Audacity is a free, open source, cross-platform, music editing and recording program. For musicians who cannot afford to spend $600 on a ProTools console, or even spend $100 on a basic four-track device, Audacity offers an unbiased and classless entry for anyone interested in sound recording and editing.

Since Audacity was developed and launched by Dominic Mazzoni and Roger Dannenberg in May of 2000, the program has remained a strong bastion of quality freeware, despite ample opportunity to sell out and begin charging customers for usage.

Although lacking some of the high-end features of expensive recording software, Audacity comes loaded with a wide array of features and can easily be augmented to include a seemingly endless assortment of VST effects.

Perhaps the strongest aspect of Audacity is how easy it is to understand. The overall interface is so intuitive that most beginners won’t even need instructions to begin working. With Audacity’s simple and effective design, the oftentimes complicating tasks of importing, exporting, virtual audio streaming, batch conversion, special effects, multi-tracking and mastering are only a few clicks away.

Furthermore, Audacity supports WAV, AIFF, AU, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, MPEG audio, MP2, MP3, AC3, M4A and WMA sound formats and makes conversion between these different media formats easy and painless.

Additionally, Audacity is cross-platform compatible, so no matter if you are using a PC or a Macintosh, you can download this excellent freeware and begin editing and recording music in a matter of minutes.

Technology has forever changed how we listen, relate and get our hands on music. Part of the reason is because of online streaming services that consumers use. These streaming services would not be available if it weren’t for the internet companies like the one in CLEAR wireless internet in Cypress. Take a look at how our advancement in technology has altered how we experience music.

Record players and radios. Before the convenience and freedom we got from Apple products, people only had radios and record players to rely on for music distribution. Record players evolved from the Thomas Edison prototype to a modern 20th century version, mostly improved turntable, needle and stylus.

Eight-track player. Eight-tracks grew increasingly popular from the 1960s on through the 1980s in the United States, thanks to Ford including an eight-track player in its Mustangs . Eight-track tapes could hold around 45 minutes of music, and was the premier technology for cassette tapes.

Portable CD player. Believe it or not, the first portable CD player was developed as early as 1984. Early versions were susceptible to CDs skipping, which was mostly rectified by the time CD players were commercially huge in the 90s. Portable CD players were all the rage, as were huge books to hold all of your CDs, since only one could play at a time.

iPod. Skip ahead to the iPod, which was released back in 2001 and is still going strong thanks to the minds and innovation at Apple. iPods have gotten smaller while the amount of music the hold has grown immensely. iPods wouldn’t be what they are without iTunes, which in itself has changed the music industry forever. Instead of pirating music, you can quickly download individual songs and albums straight to iTunes to upload to your iPod.

iPhone. The first iPhone was released in 2007, and has now become part smartphone part iPod. Now iPhone users can just use their phones to listen to music instead of having to tote around an iPhone and an iPod.

As people continue to get smarter, so will the technology we use to listen to music, whether it’s more online radio streaming services like Pandora or hybrid online platforms like Spotify.

The Billboard Music Awards have always been a big deal in showing off the celebrities and new songs of the year. The 2012 Billboard Music Awards have been said to have the best styles of the year as well. There are many artists sporting new wild styles that will have your mouth drop open with shock or excitement. Hearing new songs be awarded that you have fallen in love with on the radio or an album can be just as exciting for fans as it is for artists. There are a lot of artists that have come back into the music industry after taking breaks from the fame.This{{/tag} helps explain it more. They can show off their new music and styles at award shows watched by many fans around the world.

Recording artists enjoy being in the spotlight and winning awards for their hard work in the music industry. A lot of artists have shown interest in trying new styles and using different artists with various genres to sing with them on their tracks and collaborate to make an amazing song. Music can make a big difference in a person’s life, and hearing them live on the award shows can make people sing and dance along, just like they are right there with them on the stage.

There are all types of software programs out there that can help you create your own home studio on your computer. It may seem like a gimmick, but the software really is good for helping people perfect their sound.

Programs like Virtual DJ and MixMiester Pro are two of the great programs that allow you to sample and edit tracks. You can loop beats or slow down tracks. You can even mix your vocals over beats. Some people may assume that the DJ and mixing programs are just for parties. Both programs are great for parties, but the looping and blending aspects makes them great studio applications.Want more? Click here{{/tag}

Three other cool studio type programs for recording include Sony Creative, ACID Music Studio, and Cake Walk. All of these programs are getting great review by consumers because they do what recording artists want software to do. People can take out noise elements and make their music sound crisp and clear. This is what every artist wants to do when they hit the studio. With software like this they don’t have to worry about going and paying expensive lockout studio fees. To the contrary, they can simply buy the software and get started.

MTV was expecting a live pre-album release performance from Machine Gun Kelly. In the interview Machine Gun Kelly actually sat down to talk about his lyrics and where he came from.

Many people may want to compare this artist to Eminem because they both have the same “wrong side of the tracks” image, but Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) seems to be a little harder. His MTV appearance is the first that some people have seen of him, but he is known well in the Cleveland community where he is from.

This is just showing people the changes in urban music. For so long it has been a mostly black genre with a few white artists showing up from time to time. With rappers like Machine Gun Kelly and soulful singers like Adele it shows that the urban culture is becoming a lot more diverse. More people are experiencing a whole different vibe from this type of culture.

People have been glad to see that there is more diversity in rap artists. It gives consumers a chance to hear from a perspective that is not so mainstream. It’s a vibe that MTV picked up and decided to shine a spotlight on.

When “American Idol” first began airing in June 2002, it was more of an experiment than a budding phenomenon. Though the show’s format had been successful in other countries, it was not known if it would connect with Americans audiences. Talent shows such as “Star Search” had peaked in the 1980s, but the 1990s saw a decline in interest in these types of shows. Ultimately, “Idol” took hold in a big way, quickly becoming the top show on television.

“American Idol” has maintained its dominance on the U.S. television market. It has been the top show in the country for seven consecutive seasons, a record that will likely never be broken. However, “Idol” may be a victim of its own success.

The driving force behind “Idol,” Simon Cowell, has moved on to another high-profile talent competition called “The X-Factor.” NBC’s “The Voice” has already gained a strong following in just two seasons. There’s also “So You Think Your Can Dance” and “America’s Got Talent.” All of these competition shows could incite fatigue with American audiences. Usually, when Americans tire of a trend, the original trendsetter feels the effects first and that would be “American Idol.”

While “Idol” is currently in no danger of being canceled, it could soon fade from the forefront of pop culture consciousness.

There is no doubt about it. Adele has changed music forever with an urban style that cannot be matched. It makes people think of the Motown era, but its comes from a different side of the country. No one expected a girl from the United Kingdom, a white girl, to become the new face of the Motown sound.

It also shows that there is a lot of talent to be tapped from the UK. Early on there was the R&B group of Floetry that came with a neo-soul sound. The whole story can be found at http://www.modbee.com/2012/09/08/2364872/musicians-deliver-motown-sounds.html Today there are groups like One Direction that are blowing up the pop charts. The ground is quite fertile for all that want to venture into R&B. It has actually given urban music more diversity.

There was a time when urban music was diverse. It became stagnant with all of the lewd sex themed songs. The lyrics lacked imagination. The vocalists were getting computerized tracks that played with the sound of their voice. People really were losing interest. This is why it made sense for Adele to appear and rescue the urban music scene.

With Adele a fresh sound has emerged that is still familiar. She brought the soul music back.
